Weigh-in: What do you see?

(1996)
The first photograph I ever printed (left)  -  actual image from the negative I was attempting to print (right)
All the film I hand processed was over-developed & bullet proof.
All the prints I made that day (an entire box) were under-exposed & riddled with dust -
a Mess!
I left the darkroom feeling totally dejected.

In the elevator, I look down at my pile of reject prints.
There I see my dad in rays of light standing next to Tom.

(Close-Up)
Just to be clear, I know there are technical answers to explain this image.
It's likely a double exposure from the enlarger or the easel moving while exposing.
(my inexperience at the time is a huge factor)

However, I choose to believe it was a sign...
it moved me to tears - cleansing me of self-doubt.

What I see is 2 male figures:
(1st) Does not have facial hair & hairline differs from Toms
(2nd) Looks like Tom - with long beard
My Father
Compare face / hairline to figure on left
(height 5'11'')

Tom
different frame than above - sharper negative
(height 6'2'')
